Maison Duvivier Canapés, founded in 1840 and labelled a Living Heritage Company (Entreprise du Patrimoine Vivant), joins C4 Industries. This marks a new chapter for the company, renowned for its exceptional expertise in saddlery and cabinetmaking. Its collections and bespoke creations embody French excellence.

This acquisition marks a new step in the ongoing expansion of C4 Industries’ “Art de vivre” division, which already includes Maison Lelièvre, since September 2024, and the Faïencerie de Gien, since September 2025. It reflects the C4 Industries’ commitment to championing French craftsmanship and excellence on the international stage, while pursuing its development across new markets.

Established nearly two centuries ago in Usson-du-Poitou, in the Vienne department, south of Poitiers, Duvivier Canapés brings together more than twenty highly skilled artisanal trades – from saddlery to cabinetmaking – all mastered in-house by over forty experienced craftspeople: carpenters, upholsterers, seamstresses, and saddlers. In leatherwork, excellence is reflected in the precision of wrapping, braiding, and hand-stitching; in woodworking, it shines through meticulous finishes such as brushing, staining, and working with solid wood. The Maison’s handcrafted sofas, armchairs, and exceptional furniture reflect a timeless style paired with unparalleled craftsmanship.

Under the leadership of Aymeric Duthoit – a former member of the Bénéteau Group Executive Board – who acquired the company in 2016, Duvivier Canapés has undergone an upmarket repositioning, a full rebranding, and a continuous enrichment of its savoir-faire. This transformation has been supported by the appointment of a new artistic direction and collaborations with renowned French designers such as Pierre Gonalons, Charlotte JulliardGuillaume Hinfray, and Jean-Philippe Nuel. These partnerships have helped elevate the Maison’s creative identity and enhance its visibility.

In 2023, a strategic investment of nearly €3 million enabled the construction of a new cabinetmaking workshop of 1,000 m², providing the Manufacture with a platform of craftsmanship unique in France. In 2024,Duvivier Canapés launched its DC1840 Heritage Collection, a tribute to the history of French design featuring pieces signed by Michel Mortier, or Joseph-André Motte – in collaboration with Mobilier national.

This momentum has strengthened Duvivier Canapés’ foundations and enabled a decisive strategic shift: expanding towards a B2B clientele, supported by enhanced product development capabilities, enhanced industrial agility, and in-house 3D modelling and prototyping expertise.

Today, with its 60 employees, Duvivier Canapés generates around 60% of its revenue through projects for leading French luxury Maisons and major names in interior architecture, high-end residential design, luxury hospitality (Le Negresco in Nice, Le Scribe in Paris, Le Château d’Artigny), and luxury yachting, both in France and internationally.

This excellence, combined with strengthened execution capabilities, naturally led to Duvivier Canapés joining C4 Industries, marking the beginning of a new phase of growth for the Maison.

Led by Pascal Cagni – former Vice President of Apple for the EMEIA region, appointed by Steve Job – C4 Industries aims to preserve, develop, and promote French craftsmanship internationally through long-term investments. With Duvivier Canapés, C4 Industries strengthens its presence in fine woodworking, leather goods, textiles, and exceptional furniture. The Manufacture already collaborates with other companies of C4 Industries, such as Maison Lelièvre, with whom it has exhibited at Milan and Paris Design Weeks, as well as at the 2025 World Expo in Osaka, Japan.

C4 Industries intends to support Duvivier Canapés’ development along three strategic priorities:

  • strengthening the design office and product development teams to meet the most demanding project requirements;
  • accelerating international expansion, particularly in the United Kingdom, the Gulf countries, and the United States;
  • developing collaborations with leading designers and specifiers.

Aymeric Duthoit will pursue his role as Managing Director. Pascal Cagni will assume the company’s presidency, alongside  Alexandre Errera and Diane Cagni, who will bring their expertise in the art de vivresector as Co-Directors of Investment.

Pascal Cagni, President, C4 Industries: “Maison Duvivier Canapés embodies the excellence of French craftsmanship in high-end furniture. The company joins our portfolio of Maisons driven by a shared vision: to preserve heritage while innovating across new uses and markets.
We are proud to support this human-scaled company, deeply rooted in its region and looking toward the international forefront of exceptional design and refined interior decoration.”

Aymeric Duthoit, Managing Director, Duvivier Canapés: “This partnership continues the work initiated in 2016 to consolidate our craftsmanship, build a unique production platform in France, and strengthen our reach and influence. This would have not been possible without the dedication of our artisans and teams, to whom I extend my heartfelt thanks. With C4 Industries, we have found a partner aligned with our values of authenticity and excellence, and the means to accelerate our international development. I look forward to continuing this human journey and writing this new chapter together.”
